Christopher "Chris" Crouse, Jr.

On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, Christopher “Chris” Edward Crouse, Jr. of Clarksville, VA, formerly of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully in Henderson, NC.  Beloved husband of Virginia Mae Gourley Crouse. Loving father of Linda M. Crouse and Christopher E. Crouse, III and his wife Geri Rue Crouse and the late Sherry M. Crouse. Devoted grandfather of Michael and Kelly and his great-grandchildren; Cullen, Clodagh and Shelby. Brother of Wayne J. Crouse, Margaret E. Wolf, Mary Martinoli and the late David H. Crouse. Chris is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Margaret E. and Christopher E. Crouse, Sr.

He served in The U.S. Marines from 1956-1958 and was a member of the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa Japan and was honorably discharged. Following his enlistment, he was employed at Western Electric in Baltimore, Md and was accepted into the machinist apprenticeship program and worked for the company until given early retirement after transfer to Richmond, Va in 1985. He began a new career as a real estate agent and eventually became owner and broker of his own Real Estate firm, SoVa Realty, in South Hill, Va.

He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and hunting with his family and friends. He volunteered to coach girl’s softball because no one else raised their hand to help. He was always thinking of others and would often go out of the way to make sure everyone else was taken care of. He is greatly missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 Second Avenue, SW, (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm where a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10:30 am. Graveside Service and interment to follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD where Mr. Crouse, Jr. will receive Military Honors. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
