Daniel Dalbert Baillie, 90, of Glen Burnie, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020. Daniel was born on July 25, 1929, in Elfers, Florida, to the late William and Hattie Baillie. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class during the Korean Conflict. He then went on to work for W.R. Grace for 35 years as a chemical worker. Daniel took pride in his participation as Union President, in supporting the International Chemical Workers Union Local #976. He was a devout Christian and served many ministries as a long-standing member of Glen Burnie Baptist Church, including being a Deacon and the Building Committee. Daniel enjoyed the outdoors – including hunting and gardening, as well as reading his Bible and woodworking. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Daniel was predeceased by his devoted wife of 34 years, Barbara Jean Urps Baillie, and ten of his siblings. He is survived by his loving sons, Roger Baillie and his wife Sheila, and Steven Baillie and his wife Veronica; his cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Kish, Daniel Baillie, Taylore Baillie, and Tyler Baillie; his beloved great-grandson, T.J. Kish; his dear sister, Emmareeta Clark; and many nieces & nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy), on Monday, February 10th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, February 11th, at 10:30 AM at Glen Burnie Baptist Church, 7524 Old Stage Rd, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Daniel’s name may be made to the Glen Burnie Baptist Church.
