David Michael Dannegger Jr., 56, of Severn, passed away at his home on December 6, 2023. Born in St. Charles, Missouri, David honorably served his country in the Army from 1985 to 1989. After his military service, David embarked on a long and rewarding career as a satellite systems engineer. David was an active member of Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church and found joy playing music in the church band. David loved sharing his passion for music with others. David's zest for life extended beyond his work and love of music. He was a longtime firefighter with Odenton Volunteer Fire Department. He was the proud author of the book Gotcha and an avid collector of World War II aviation memorabilia, testaments to his deep respect and appreciation for the servicemen of that era. Additionally, David loved aviation and enjoyed the freedom of being a private pilot. Above all, David cherished his role as a devoted father. It was in the company of his children that he found true happiness and fulfillment. His love for them knew no bounds, and he valued every moment spent together as precious gifts.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Michael Dannegger Sr.
David is survived by his loving mother, Rosemarie Forquer and her husband, Dave Boyer; beloved children, David Michael Dannegger III, Isabelle Rose Dannegger and their mother, Heather Dannegger; dear siblings, Lisa Marin and her husband, Mariano, Greg Dannegger and his wife, Robin, Brian Dannegger and his wife, Jenifer; and his loving aunts and uncle; Aunt Mary Cimino, Uncle Frank Cimino, Aunt Kathy Dannegger, Aunt Pat and Uncle Jim Dannegger. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
A gathering will be held at Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church, on December 18th, from 4 to 6 pm, followed by the service and a dinner. Donations to Pathfinders for Autism or Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church, 1239 Murray Road, Odenton, MD 21113 preferred in lieu of flowers.
