David Deshler

On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, David W. Deshler, 59, of Baltimore City passed away unexpectedly at his home.  David was born on November 3, 1960 in Baltimore to the late Harley David and Serene (Linton) Deshler.  He graduated from Archbishop Spalding High School, then joined the U.S. Navy.  He served his country in the Navy for four years then continued serving in the Naval Reserves.  David continued his faithful service to the Navy by working as a civilian employee at the Naval Academy for over 35 years, and was still employed there upon his death.

In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting old records, old toys, and sports memorabilia.  He was a real movie buff as well.  He and his late father used to go to the movies every Wednesday.  David was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Denise Deshler. Surviving him are his Step-Mother, Linda Deshler; Step-Sister, Shawn Howser and husband, Scott, and Step-Brother, Shane Poteet;  three nieces, Julia Howser, Katy Gracey and Angel Poteet; two nephews, Scott Howser and Shane Poteet, Jr.; an Uncle, Jimmy Linton; three Aunts, Cass Barger, Bev Bell, and Pat Deshler; and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037.
