David L. Floyd, Sr., 64, of Glen Burnie, died of a rare lung disease at Baltimore Washington Medical Center on March 17, 2009. He graduated from Southern High School in 1963 and joined the US Marine Corps in 1964. Mr. Floyd was a Metrologist with Northrop Grumman Corp. for 25 yrs. until he retired at the age of 62. He was a member of Benfield Brass and Bay Winds Brass and was an avid bagpiper for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and building things. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Patricia E. Floyd; three sons, David L. Floyd, Jr. and his wife Catherine, Scott M. Floyd, Robert A. Floyd and his wife Nicole; a sister & brother, Doris M. Lantz and Charles T. Floyd. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren. Mr. Floyd will be deeply missed.
