On January 4, 2017, David Lee Foster, Sr., 72, of Halethorpe, passed away in his home. David was born on March 16, 1944, to the late Patricia (nee McHenry) and Clyde Foster in Huntington, West Virginia. He served his country proudly as a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army for 25 years, earning many medals and commendations. Those include the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal (1st - 6th Awards), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Drivers Badge, United States Army Recruiter Badge w/3 Gold Stars. David was also a member of the Auxiliary Coast Guard and he enjoyed boating, chess, fishing, and bowling.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 29 1/2 years, Marie E. Foster; his beloved children, Stephanie Foster, David Foster Jr., Michael Foster, Stanley Syczurowski, Kristina Nunley, and Brittney Foster; his cherished grandsons, Thomas, Patrick, Michael, Anthony, Chase, and Henry; and his dear brothers, Sam, Patrick, and Clyde Jr. David was predeceased by his brothers, Michael Foster and Mark Foster, as well as his step-mother, Betty Foster.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie on Tuesday, January 10th, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, January 11th, at 10 AM at Harundale Presbyterian Church, 1020 Eastway, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
