SICKLE, David Franklin beloved husband of the late Norma M Sickle (née Knauff) died on Monday, Sept, 06 2021 peacefully at his home in Glen Burnie surrounded by his loving family.  David was one of 11 children born to the late Albert A Sickle and the late Lorena M Sickle (née Norris). David was born and raised in Lansdowne, Baltimore Md. where he met the love of his life Norma. They were married at Saint Clements church in Lansdowne on June 28, 1958. David and Norma were married for 61 years. They eventually settled in Harundale, Glen Burnie, Md where they raised 3 of their 4 children. David was a graduate of Catonsville High school in 1956. David was always a hardworking man and was a devoted Catholic always being the first to volunteer even in his later years. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, The church of Crucifixion in Glen Burnie and most recently Christ the King Catholic Church. At one time he was actively working 3 jobs and never complained. He first started working with his father at Coca-cola. At some point he decided to become a Truck Driver, driving up and down the east coast. He retired from Blue Diamond Trucking. He loved driving. At one point in his career he even taught Drivers Ed. After he retired he worked for Bob Bell Ford delivering parts and then worked in the warehouse. He was also a Baltimore Ravens fan and watched every game he could. In his younger years he enjoyed model railroading and loved to have a train garden at Christmas. One of his hobbies was talking to people. He always chatted with someone even if they were a complete stranger. He made friends wherever he was.

David leaves behind 3 loving children Susan A Shepeta (née Sickle) and her husband Henry (Hank) Shepeta Jr, Dawn M Amini (née Sickle) and her husband James (Jimmy) Amini and Jeffrey D Sickle and his wife Melinda Sickle (née Samuels). David also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, David J Shepeta and his fiancé Latoia M Murphy, Kimberley A Shepeta and her fiancé Robert (Robbie) Neslein Jr, Kaitlyn T Shepeta, James D (Jimmy) Amini Jr, Brandy N Amini and Grand dog Ellie Mae Snicker Doodle. Great grandchildren Amya L Murphy, Elijah J Shepeta and Mason R Neslein. He will be greatly missed by his two loving pets dog Cali and bird Chico. David is also survived by two brothers Herman F Sickle and Jerome A (Allen) Sickle, two loving sisters June L Harden (née Sickle) and Doris M Barnes (née Sickle).

David is preceded in death by his loving wife Norma M Sickle (née) Knauff and daughter Leslie Sickle that died just after birth. His parents Albert A Sickle and Lorena M Sickle (née Norris) He is also preceded in death by 5 Brothers James K (Kenneth) Sickle, William P (Billy) Sickle, Parren J (Joseph) Sickle, Albert A Sickle Jr, Donald P Sickle, and 1 sister Agnes M Ward (née Sickle).

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Saturday, Sept. 11th from 5-7 PM and on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church on Monday, September 13th at 10 AM. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in David’s name to Christ the King Catholic Church, at the office address, 126 Dorsey Rd, Glen Burnie, MD 21060.
