Dennis Wayne Andrews, 78, of Glen Burnie was called home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2012 following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Alvin Gaither and Sarah Matilda Andrews of Butler, TN. He was the brother of the late James and Bernard Andrews and grandfather to the late Chelsea Andrews. He is survived by his belowed wife of 56 years, Bernetta Andrews; two sons and their wives- Randy and Kimmie Andrews and Steven and Kim Andrews and three grandchildren- Ashley Andrews, Dennis Andrews and Madeline Andrews and one brother and his wife Henry and Eleanor Andrews along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dennis was born in Carter County, Tennessee and moved to Maryland along with other family members in the 1960's in search of work. After moving to Maryland he was drafted into the Army and did two years of service as an MP. Following his civil service, he worked for Shook Drywall Company as a drywall hanger and foreman. Dennis had great faith in God and was instrumental in the works at Granite Baptist where he volunteered as a bus driver and Anchor Baptist churches.
Dennis loved his family and he loved to work; he worked tirelessly during his younger years to provide for his family and when illness prevented his working during mid-life he devoted his love, time and affection to his four grandchildren. In addition to being a devoted family man, he enjoyed such activities as fishing, gardening, reading his Bible and westerns and enjoyed learning how to use his computer.
