D.L. Doane

Mr. D.L. Doane, 83, of Glen Burnie, Maryland passed away June 3, 2010 at Genesis Elder Care in Severna Park. D.L. was born in Rich Valley, VA in 1927 to the late Arthur and Mittie Doane. He served in the US Army from 1945-1946. D.L. worked for MD Shipbuilding & Drydock for 34 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1456, American Legion Post 40 and Eisenhower Golf Course, Senior Men's League. His hobbies included golfing, hunting, fishing and boating, bowling, gardening and mostly spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of 59 years of Helen Doane; devoted father of Donald Doane, Deborah Bennett, Kenneth and Michael Doane; dear brother of Kathleen Deming, Mittie McDougall, Elizabeth Jenkins, Hilda Wyatt, Nancy Ross, and Gary Doane; loving grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 3.
