Dolores B. (Handschuh) Harris Appling, 84, a long time resident of Linthicum died peacefully on November 9, 2013 at Glen Burnie Rehab after a long illness. Born February 9, 1929 in Baltimore, she was the eldest of 5 children to the late Adam and Noami Handschuh. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Yvonne Brown, twin sisters Joan & Evelyn and her brother Adam Handschuh. "Dee" as she was best known is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, William G. Appling, retired USCG from Athens, Georgia; two children, a daughter, Donna M. Quintero and husband Dennis, and son, William "Donnie" Harris; and four of her pride and joy grandchildren, Heath, Blake and Aubree Harris of Pasadena and Dalton M. Quintero of Brooklyn Park. The family would like to give a special thank you to Glen Burnie Health & Rehab Rosemary Unit, for their loving comfort to Dee and her family through her illness.
