Dolores Mollie Hinkleman was born to Rayford and Ralph Harris 81 years ago in Ashville, North Carolina. She was the oldest sister to Ronnie, Paul, George, Irma, Cecil and Sharon. All of whom had families who she loved very much. Dolores moved to Maryland at age 18 and although the miles between her and her family were many, the love in her heart for them kept them close. After moving to Maryland she met and married
Robert Hinkleman and had 4 children. They were an Army couple moving to Georgia where Lisa was born; followed by Robert (Bobby) who was born in New Jersey; then off to Alaska, right as it was becoming a state and there Donna was born; and then back to Baltimore, Maryland to live with her in-laws whom she loved very much and this is where Gregory was born. Eventually, they moved to Glen Burnie, Maryland and bought their first home and raised their family. Dee was working hard as a homemaker and helper to her husband and his brother, George, working at the laundromats the Hinkleman family owned. They all get together and provided the best summers kids could ever imagine by taking Lisa, Bobby, Donna, Greg and her nieces and nephews, Cathy, Doug, Vic and Jeff down the shore home in Arnold, Maryland. There was No TV but plenty of love, hardwork, fun, sunshine, inner-tube swimming, crabbing, fishing, raking leaves, catching butterflies, playing hide and seek, putting together puzzles and playing cards games every night along with a root beer float. Baths were given in crab pots to the little ones. Neighbors sent over crab cakes or we ate what we caught from the Magothy River. She also took the family to the annual Ashville Family Reunion as often as she could. There was a sea of family members: Rayford and Ralph Harris; Irma, Gary, Parrish, Terrra Debord; Paul, Claudette, Cecil, Paul, MarieFrance Harris; Ronnie, Julie,Debbie and Bruce Harris; George, Shelia, Aaron Harris; Sharon and Harold; Aunt Inza and UncleJohn, Virgina Ann and Beth; Aunt Cookie; just to name a few. Mom and her sister Irma were sisters and best friends too. The food at the annual family reunion was so good and so plentiful too. You just can't beat a southern cook and Dee ranked among the best of them.
During the fall, winter and spring the children attended Holy Trinity School. Dolores and her husband Robert were head of the PTA and the closing of Holy Trinity School was being put into effect. The PTA had their work cut out for them for they had set their sites on saving Holy Trinity and Catholic Education for children. The fight was hard fought but successful and Author Slade Regional School was born and to this very day continues to provide Catholic education to children K-8th Grade.
As time went on Dolores became a Real Estate Agent and Broker. She was making long lasting friends in the field, David, Michaeline, Walley, David and Patty. So, so many friends and she loved each one with her whole heart and they were so good to her as well.
