Donald Walker Chapman Sr., 80, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away at home on October 18, 2018. He was born in Baltimore to the late Harold W. and Loretta Chapman. He retired from Carling's Brewery after 25 years of service. He was a member of the machinist union IAM. Donald enjoyed archery, hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, dancing, socializing, boating and motorcycles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Walker Chapman Jr.; and his sister, Genevieve Sheehan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years to Norma M. Chapman; loving children, Doug Chapman, Sandy Johns (Frank), Steve Chapman (Nancy), Bruce Chapman (Lorraine), Marlene Wellein (Dave); cherished grandchildren, Amanda Snyder, Doug Chapman, Billy Nemec, Brian Johns, Frankie Johns, Steven Chapman Jr., Christina Chapman, Joey Chapman, Nicholas Chapman, Kelly Chapman, Justin Wellein, Kevin Wellein and Ryan Wellein; and 10 devoted great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue S.W., Glen Burnie, on Monday, Oct. 22nd, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice by visiting www.delawarehospice.org.
