Donald "Bird" Dickson, 89 of Pasadena passed away in Glen Burnie on January 12, 2013. Mr. Dickson was born on November 29, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Dickson County, Tennessee. He served in the Merchant Marines from World War II until the early 1960's, circumnavigating the globe 8 times. While serving in the Merchant Marines during WWII, his ship was torpedoed off the coast of Virginia Beach. He was an electrician with Local 24 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers since 1961, serving for several terms as Treasurer. During the early 1940's he played the trombone in the Washington Redskin's Marching Band. Don enjoyed telling stories, boating, camping and fishing. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Catherine "Kitty" Dickson and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
