Donna Pumphrey

Suddenly, on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 Donna Kay Pumphrey of Millersville, Maryland was called Home. Donna is survived by a host of loving family members including: her beloved husband, Jack C. Pumphrey, Jr. She was a devoted mother of: Jack Pumphrey, III his wife Dawn, Kristy Dulin and her husband Scott, and Laurie Pumphrey. Loving Grandmother of: Jack Clifford IV, Joshua Alton, and Ashlyn Grace Pumphrey, and John Scott, Emma Lynn, and Gretchen Beau Dulin. Supportive sister of: Dr. John Schillinger, Jr., Joy Bowers, Carol Ann Brong Betty Russell, and James Schillinger. Daughter-in-law of Rita Pumphrey and John Sakowski. Sister-in-law of: Sandra and Fred Ervin, Jr., and Jeff and Wendy Pumphrey, Barbara Schillinger, Bud Bowers, Jack Brong, Walter Russell, and Gina Schillinger. She was preceded in death by her dear parents: John and Ruth Schillinger and brother: Wilbur Schillinger. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a community of friends.
Donna graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1968 and in that year she earned the title of Anne Arundel County Farm Queen. She was a member of Glen Burnie United Methodist Church, where she played the piano for Sunday school for over 35 years. She also served as the dutiful Office Manager of her family owned business, Millersville Plumbing. She loved working at the family farm, Papa John's in Severn, Maryland, where she was born and raised. Any given day you would find Donna at Papa John's farm roadside stand greeting everyone with a warm smile and helpful hand. She adored the farm as well as her children and spending time doting on her 'darling' grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time relaxing in Ocean City, Maryland, and was an avid world-traveler with her loving husband of 40 years. The family request donations in her name to the American Heart Association 415 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
