Doris King

On July 6, 2015, Ms. Doris Ellen King (nee Simmons) passed away at her residence in Glen Burnie, MD. Ms. King was born on April 6, 1937 in Baltimore, MD, to Albert and Minnie Simmons. She owned and operated Modern Beauty Academy in Glen Burnie. Doris was also a student and then a teacher at Ruth's Beauty School. She enjoyed singing karaoke, watching "Crazy Jack", and spending time with her family.
Ms. King was preceded in death by her husband Howard A. Collins, and her son Ricky D. King. She is survived by her children; Christine King, Michael D. King and his wife Victoria, and John D. King, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, her siblings; Mary Johnson and her husband Orpha, Martha "Cookie" Lane, Bobby Simmons and his wife Juanita, and Donnie Simmons, her former husband, Kenneth S. King, and many nieces and nephews.
