Dorothy Athey

On April 25, 2011, Dorothy N. "Chick" Athey, 83, a resident of Centerville, MD died at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD; beloved wife of the late Tyras S. "Bunk" Athey and beloved mother of Darlene Athey, Bryan (Diana) Athey, Cathleen (Joseph) Pritchard, grandmother of Alexis, Bryan Jr., Gabrielle, Kailey and Brandon, sister of John J. "Buddy" O'Lexey, loving daughter of the late Elizabeth and John O'Lexey.
Chick was born and lived most of her life in Jessup, MD, where she was active in many organizations, The Womans Auxillary of The Jessup Volunteer Fire Dept., The Jessup Womans Club, an active member of The Fort Meade Garden Club, and member of St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Jessup.
Chick and her husband Bunk owned and operated the Ye Olde Farm Spirit Shoppe in Severn for many years. They were married 59 years until his passing in July of 2010. Chick was an active member of The Anne Arundel County License Beverage Association since 1960. Chick served terms as both President and Treasurer during those years.
