Dorothy Carrick

May 28, 1931 — December 24, 2016

Dorothy "Marlene" Carrick, 85, of Glen Burnie, passed away on December 24, 2016. She was born in Baltimore to the late Emory and Katherine Boll. Marlene was a graduate of Southern High School. She retired as a purchasing agent from Buffalo Tank a Division of Bethlehem Steel. Marlene had a special love for her son. She also enjoyed spending time with her son, family and friends. She loved Christmas time, especially giving special gifts to family and pets. She looked forward to getting her hair done every week. Going out to dinner, snowmen, cut glass and crystal were some of her favorite activities. Marlene enjoyed making friends, even up to the end. She also loved her dogs, Sandy, Misty, Molly and Kerri and her son's dogs, Chessie and Sadie. Her family would like to thank some of her nursing aides for the care and compassion she received.

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Carrick. She is survived by her son, Donald D. Brunk Jr. and his wife, Linda Eisgruber; and two nieces, Karen and Debbie Funk.

Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 2nd Avenue SW (Crain Hwy.) Glen Burnie on Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday at 1 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue; Annapolis, MD 21403 or BARCS, 301 Stockholm Street; Baltimore, MD 21230.
