Dorothy M. Merritt

Dorothy M. Merritt, 88, of Baltimore, passed away peacefully at Arcadia Assisted Living  surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born in Baltimore to the late Albert and Florence Donnelly.  She enjoyed duckpin bowling, traveling and was very active with her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. She also played Mahjong every Monday with her girlfriends and was an avid Orioles fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Donald B. Merritt Sr.; and brother, Albert M. Donnelly Jr.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Donald Merritt, Jr., Timothy (Pearl) Merritt, Donna Marsiglia (Jeff Rogers) and Amy (Donald) Ireland; nine cherished grandchildren- Kristin, Stacie, Timothy, Sarah, Ashley, Rachel, Adam, Brooke, and Abby; 10 beloved great-grandchildren- Holden, Lilly, Lynsea, Timothy, Rose, Hudson, Tatum, Natalie, Adalynn and Tilman; and her loving sister, Sharon Stielper (Leonard).
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy), on Wednesday, Sept. 13^th, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, 12 PM, at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122.  Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
