Dr. Larry Anderson

Dr. Larry D. Anderson, 62, of Hanover, Maryland passed away on May 15, 2010 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Dr. Anderson was born in Traverse City, MI in 1947. He attended Albion College, Oakland University, Wayne State University and Medical School all in Michigan. Dr. Anderson was a Professor of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the University of Maryland. He was a charter member of the Carolyn J. Pass, MD '66 & Richard M. Susel, MD '66 Academy of Educational Excellence. He was also the Chair of the MD State Anatomy Board, Theodore Roosevelt Foundation and Shelby American Auto Club "S.A.A.C.". Dr. Anderson received the 2006 Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Anderson was a lacrosse enthusiast who also enjoyed cars, music, reading, and mostly spending time with his family. He was the beloved Husband of Shirley Anderson (nee Riefler); devoted Father of Brent Anderson and Sheana (Anderson) Gillis and their spouses, Torey Anderson and Todd Gillis; loving "Pop Pop" of Raea and Ethan Gillis; proud son of the late Fred and Grace Anderson of Michigan.
