Mary Elaine Phelps

Dr. Mary Elaine Phelps, 65, of San Diego, California, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019.  She was born in Brooklyn Park, Maryland, on March 20, 1954, to the late Lena and George Phelps.  Mary graduated from Spalding High School in 1972, and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from University of Maryland.  Then, she earned her Master’s Degree at the University of Texas – Arlington, followed by her PhD from San Diego University.  She worked as a clinical neuro-psychologist at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego and she then traveled back and forth between California and Maryland.

Mary was predeceased by her cherished parents, Lena and George Phelps.  She is survived by her two brothers, several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many dear friends.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1  2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Thursday, October 17th , from 11-1 PM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel.  Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
