Dr. Paul G. Mueller, Sr., of Pasadena, passed away on May 9, 2012. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 9, 1925 to the late Paul and Oral Mueller. Paul served his country in the United States Navy, starting at age 17, and transferred to the Marine Corps where he served as a medic during World War II in the South Pacific. After the war, he served in the Navy Reserve. He received his Doctorate in medicine at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine and was an undergraduate at Loyola University. Paul was the Chairman of Emergency Medicine from 1969-1983 and Director of Corporate Care from 1983-1990, at which time he retired from Mercy Hospital. Paul received the Mercy Hospital's President Citation in 1979 for outstanding and unusual services, exemplary of the spirit of Mercy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and photographing flowers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madlyn and daughter, Lynn F. Mueller. He is survived by his children, Paul G. Mueller and wife Eileen and Beth A. Guizzardi and husband William; five grandchildren, Claudia Kleinsmith, Alissandra Guizzardi, Lynn Mueller, Paul J. Mueller and Gabriella Guizzardi; and one great-granddaughter, Malori Guizzardi.
