Edith Sekinger

Edith Hynson Sekinger, 89, a resident of Glen Burnie for over 45 years, passed away on August 16, 2012. She was born in Cloverhill, VA on October 4, 1922 to the late Susan Elizabeth and Julius Hayes Elza. Edith graduated from Dayton High School in Dayton, VA and retired from the State of Maryland in 1988 after 22 years of service in the personnel office at the MVA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan Paul "JP" Sekinger; and three brothers, Julius, Maurice and Woodrow Elza. She is survived by her children, Richard Harris, Ken Sekinger, Deborah Hankins, Susan Anderson and Ricky Sekinger; seven grandchildren, Brian and Katy Sekinger, Billy and Joel Hankins, Brian and Eliot Spencer and Rachael Sekinger; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Eve and Eli. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway; Annapolis, MD 21401.
