Edith Helen Robson passed away peacefully on the 27th of July, 2021 at the age of 94. She was born on December 10, 1926 in Newark, New Jersey where she grew up and attended Trenton State Teacher’s College. She married Charles Robert Robson in 1945; he preceded her in 1990. Known as Kitt by her friends and Meems by her family, she led a full and active life, as the matriarch of an Army family that moved from GA, NC, TX, Germany and finally settling in Maryland where she lived for the rest of her days. She volunteered for over 20 years with the North Arundel Hospital Auxiliary, now Baltimore Washington Medical Center. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Roadrunners Traveling Group. She was the past president of the Linthicum Women’s Group and participated with Meals on Wheels. An avid card player, she hosted a monthly card club with her many friends. Kitt enjoyed BINGO and could be found at BINGO World winning often. An active member of her church, Peace Lutheran, she would visit those that could not attend services and offer Communion. Kitt enjoyed lively conversation and debate about all topics and would strike up conversation with strangers and friends alike. A Tony Bennett fan, she would often be heard humming along to her favorite tunes but especially loved Christmas time and the kindness it would bring. She enjoyed traveling to new places but had a special place in her heart for Ocean City. There was always a place at her table for anyone who needed it and she lived her life giving to others and teaching her children and grandchildren to be kind and loving.
Kitt is survived by her devoted children, Darian Scott Robson, Gary Robson and his wife, Susan, Kelly Dallas and her husband, Derick; Rebecca Robson and her husband Nicholas DiPasquale; cherished grandchildren, Jessica Robson Nicholls and her husband Simon, Richard Listman and Ted Marsh and his wife Dana; and her two beloved step-grandchildren, Caroline and Emily Nicholls, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. We will all miss her light and the joy she brought to our hearts.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, 1 2nd Avenue SW at Crain Highway on Monday, Aug. 2nd, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake or Partners In Care.
