On January 27, 2009, Edna Earl Doenges of Linthicum, MD since 1976, previously of Glen Burnie, MD for 12 years. Beloved wife of 66 years of George R. (Bob) Doenges, Sr.; loving mother of George Robert Doenges, Jr. and Sue Shireman; cherised grandmother of Rachael Elizabeth Thompson, Amanda Leah Baker, Stephanie Erika Gregory and Eliza Blessing Stocking; and caring great-grandmother of Max Cameron Baker and Shiloh Brooke Thompson. She was preceded in death by her brother, James L. Williams, her mother, Ellie Mae Andrews, her stepfather, Peter M. Andrews and her father, Robert Louis Williams. Edna was born in Petersburg, Virginia in 1915. She went to school at Salisbury University in 1939 where she earned her B.S. She also went to the University of Maryland at College Park for her Post Graduate Work. She was a Teacher with Anne Arundel County Public Schools for 28 years. She was a Teacher at Brooklyn Park Elementary, Richard Henry Lee Elementary and Glendale Elementary. Edna was a member of the Anne Arundel Retired School Personnel Association and the MD Retired Teacher's Association. She was a also a member of the Glen Burnie United Methodist Church, a Past School Teacher, a Circle Leader. She was an active woman and was also with Fidelii Bible Class, the Administrative Board, a Scholarship Committee Member, Young At Heart and AARP. She had many hobbies including reading and travelling. She also liked to play the piano.
