Edward John

Edward John, of Glen Burnie, passed away at his home on October 15, 2015. He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on January 17, 1928 to the late James and Zoe John. Ed graduated from New Castle High School, National Academy of Broadcasting, Baltimore School of the Bible and Child Evangelism Fellowship Leadership Training Institute. He served with the 88th Infantry Division Army Band during the occupation of Italy after World War II. After being discharged from the Army, he worked as a radio announcer on WHVR in Hanover, PA from 1949-1964 and WCBC & WRBS in Baltimore from 1964-1978. Ed served with Child Evangelism Fellowship in Adams County, PA, Baltimore, MD, New York City and Pittsburgh, PA.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; four children, Christine Johnson, Cynthia Crowther, Gregory John and Carolyn Boyle; sister, Martina Bees; four stepchildren, James Griffith, David Griffith, Donna Rachuba and Lisa Leinninger; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edward's name may be made to Shippensburg Evangelical Free Church, 432 Bradley Lane, Shippensburg, PA 17257 OR Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122.
