Edward Murphy Sr

Edward William Murphy, Sr., 76, passed away on June 8, 2018. Mr. Murphy was born on October 12, 1941 in Baltimore. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He worked as an industrial insulator for Wallace Insulation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Murphy; his parents, Edward Murphy and Ruth Wolfe; his siblings, Ethel Murphy, Bev Gisriel, Ed Murphy and Pat Murphy. He is survived by his children, Alice Newton and her husband Wayne; Edward Murphy, Jr. and his wife, Shannon; his grandchildren, Lauren Newton, Astin and Spencer Murphy and Nicholas Newton; and his sister, Judy Hamby. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his dear grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Tuesday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 13th at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Glen Haven Mem. Park.
