Elaine Johnson

Elaine W. Johnson of Millersville, MD passed away on Dec 9 after a 30 year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born Shirley Elaine to Lee and Emma Wade in 1938, she was raised in Pasadena, Maryland. Elaine graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1956 and worked for a few years at Fort Meade in the office of the General as a Secretary. Elaine became a homemaker after the birth of her second child. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1985 and quickly lost the ability to walk. While she struggled physically, she was still able to inspire others with her positive attitude and even cared for her own mother from 2001 until she passed in 2010. She remained independent until 2011 when she was finally forced to enter Genesis Nursing Facility in Severna Park.
Elaine is survived by her four children and their spouses: Ron Johnson and Patti King-Gould of Mays Landing, New Jersey; Scott and Jackie Johnson of Trenton, NJ; Eric and Marjorie Johnson of Castle Rock, Colorado; and Kim and John McCartney of Pasadena, MD. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Jeff, Kelsey, J.R., Gabby, Sam, Katie, Ian and Matthew. She is now at peace with the Lord.
