Elizabeth V. Murphy, 55, of Glen Burnie, passed away at her home on August 26, 2017. She was born in Baltimore to Joseph and the late Elaine Vaughan. She worked in elementary education as a speech pathologist for 36 years. Elizabeth was also active with St. Bernardine Roman Catholic Church. She will be missed dearly, especially by all of her students and staff at Southgate Elementary School and the other places she worked at over the years. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her former spouses, Robert Clark and William Burrell; her brothers-in-law, Tom Burrell and Richard Rushlow; and sister-in-law, Barbara Morgan.
Elizabeth is survived by her beloved husband, Will Murphy; loving children and stepchildren, Heather Clark, Danielle Clark, Adrienne Burrell, B.J. Powell, Matthew Murphy, Kelly Murphy Valdivia, Sean Murphy, Aaron Murphy and Jacob Murphy; dear foster child, Heather Carlyle Fitch; cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Blake, Dean and Annabel; and dear siblings, Diane Vaughan Cole and Chris Vaughan. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews; sons-in-law, Robert Valdivia and Daquan Mincy; daughter-in-law, Jessica Mae; sisters and brothers-in-law, Colleen and Larry Johnson, Kathleen and Jay Peeler, John Cole, Kathleen Vaughan, Cheryl Kaltrider, Kathleen and Bart Benge, Jon and Lyn Burrell, Yong Burrell, Emily and Matt Leffler-Schulman and Sally and David Stephenson; Joseph's special lady, Elaine Lottes; her dedicated cat, Gatsby; and her special friends, Mary Thorn, Mary Kondilidis and her hospice nurse, Claudine Harris.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie on Wednesday, August 30th, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel.
