Elizabeth Purdham

September 3, 1921 — April 8, 2015

Elizabeth B. Purdham, 93, a resident of Boca Raton, Florida went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2015 after a brief illness. Born in Hume, Virginia, she moved to Laurel, Maryland in 1932 with her parents Wesley and Minnie Poe. She graduated from Laurel High School and served as a cryptologist at NSA. She was devoted to God and her family all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Purdham, Sr.; son, James L. Purdham, II; three brothers, Elwood, Maurice and Robert L. Poe; sister, Evelyn Beall; and great-grandson, Evan Max.
Mrs. Purdham is survived by her daughter, Frances Yvonne (Von Purdham) Higgins and her husband Bill; daughter-in-law, Lois Purdham; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
