Erna Lyons

Erna P. Lyons (94), of Annville, PA, passed away Thursday, October 15th. Erna was born January 5, 1921 in Karlsruhe, Germany to parents Elsa (Rastetter) Barbon and Anton Barbon. She was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Lyons in 1995. She leaves behind her daughter, Colleen M. Frech and her husband Joseph of Annville, PA, her son Thomas H. Lyons and his wife Lori A. Lyons of Pasadena, MD. She also leaves several Nieces and nephews. Erna was preceded in death by her siblings: Heinz Barbon, Thea Gott, and Charlotte Strauss. Mrs. Lyons worked at several jobs in Germany from the age of 14 until she met her husband in 1949. Her husband was stationed in Germany after the war. She moved from Germany to Canada where she was married on April 14, 1952. Mr. Lyons then moved her to his home in North Haven, Ct. Being an Army wife she traveled with her husband and children all over the United States until he retired in 1996. They then settled in Glen Burnie, MD. She was a stay at home Mom. In 1999 she moved in with her daughter Colleen and son-in-law Joseph and remained with them until she passed. Erna enjoyed traveling and going to the Casino.
