Ernest Donald Hartzell

Ernest Donald Hartzell, 83, of Glen Burnie, passed away on February 16, 2024. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania to the late Ernest Milton and Marie Theresa Hartzell. He received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. Donald retired from NSA after many years of service. After retirement, he went on to work for H&R Block, preparing taxes. He was a member of the Penn State Alumni Association and Harundale Presbyterian Church. He was an avid fan of Penn State football, Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Beverly Anne Severns Hartzell; and siblings, Ernest Milton Hartzell Jr., Gwendolyn H. Haag and her husband, Thomas R. Haag.

Donald is survived by his loving children, Holly Anne Beers and Christopher Donald Hartzell; and his cherished grandchildren, Allison Anne Beers, Andrew Robert Beers and Arianna Marie Beers. He will also be missed by many loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
