Eugenia Rackis

On May 8, 2007, Eugenia Evelyn Rackis passed away at the age of 77. Loving wife of 30 years to the late Joseph J. Rackis; Beloved mother of Rebecca Rackis, Steven Rackis adn the late Kathryn Rackis; Caring sister of the late Arthur Mihalopoulos; Cherished grandmother of Colin Rackis and dearest mother-in-law of Sandy Rackis. Eugenia was born in East Moline, Illinois and lived in Peoria for 50 years. She had graduated from St. Anthony School of Nursing and was a registered nurse. Eugenia worked at Proctor Hospital and the Methodist Hospital in the E.R., the I.C.U. and the C.C.U. She was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Ladies Auxiliary where she had served as president. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies of the Heartlands in Severna Park, MD. Eugenia enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. There will be a visitation also on Sunday, May 13 at VanHoe Funeral Home, 1500 6th Street, East Moline, Illinois with interment on Monday at Rock Island Veterans Cemetery.
