Everdina Stutterheim

September 16, 1914 — February 12, 2008

"Eve" as she was affectionately called, was born on September 16, 1914 in Amsterdam, Holland, a twin daughter of Johanna Cornelia and Dirk Boonstra. She was one of thirteen children. She was raised in Amsterdam and married Adrian Stutterheim on June 7,1939 by proxy in Amsterdam and Buenos Aires, Argentina. She subsequently relocated to Buenos Aires in 1940 to join her husband. They immigrated to the United States in 1949 after living in South Africa, Australia and Europe. She lived in Maryland for 50 years, and moved to Issaquah in June 2001 when failing health caused her to move near her son and daughter's family. She resided there for the remaining days of her life.
She has traveled extensively and has lived and visited six continents. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, listening to classical music, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a 20 year member of the Pascal Senior Center in Glen Burnie, MD.
Eve's love, courage and zest for travel and life will always be a source of comfort and strength to her family and many friends.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis of Germany, Kenneth of Maryland and Mario of New York; a daughter, Heather Pierce of Washington; seven grandchildren, Marina Rosen, Marniy Pierce, Suzanne Botkins, Michael, Sydney and Victoria Stutterheim, Lindsay, Nick and Jeff Stutterheim; three great grandchildren, Jillian Everdina Rosen, Michael Rosen and Sean Michael Botkins and numerous other relatives and friends. She
was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Adrian
Stutterheim in 1993.
