Florence Roberta Hugel

Florence Roberta Hugel, 86, of Chesapeake, VA, formerly of Stevensville, MD, passed away on June 26, 2023. She was born in Upper Marlboro, MD to the late James Roy and Florence Ruby Garner. She worked as a meat cutter for Safeway, retiring after 30+ years of service. She enjoyed reading Chicken Soup for the Soul books, word searches and puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hugel; and her children, Regina and James Dawson.

     Florence is survived by her devoted children, Cynthia Dawson and John Dawson; loving daughter-in-law, Darlene Dawson; cherished grandchildren, Kimberley Kithcart (Mike), Jessie  Dawson, Bryan Bingham, Scott Bingham (Shannon), Nicole Loveall (Nathan), Mallorie Hoffman (Chris), Abigail Dawson and Derrick Bowman (Kim); and beloved great-grandmother of 14.

Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2^nd Avenue, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Thursday, July 6th, from 5-8 PM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 7th, at 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Florence’s name are requested to go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
