Frank W. Novak Jr.

October 24, 1959 — October 19, 2024

Franklin W. Novak Jr., 64, of Fort Ashby, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2024. He was born in Baltimore on October 24, 1959, to the late Frank W. Novak Sr. and Grace Mary Novak (nee Ciccone). He graduated from Arundel High School and went on to work for Northrop Grumman in West Virginia for over 20 years. 

Frank married Susan D. Novak on July 23, 1994. In the 1970’s, he joined a club called the Harmans Van Club; his van was known as the “Silver Bullet”. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. Frank also enjoyed Nascar racing, hunting and was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan. In his earlier years, he also played baseball. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Taylor; and many other aunts and uncles.

Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Susan; loving sons, David Shifflett (Melissa Monk) and Tyler Novak; loving daughter-in-law, Kimberly Taylor; cherished grandsons, Kameron Shifflett and James Taylor; and dear sisters, Rose Ann Edwards and her husband, Donald, and Grace Mary Carder and her husband, Edward. He will also be missed by his beloved niece and nephews, Shannon Hill, Phillip Lavergne, Justin and Jesse Bock; and several cousins.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday, Oct. 27th, from 12 – 2 and 4 – 7 PM. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 28th, 11 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park. 

There will be a local celebration from 6 – 9 PM on October 24th at the following location- Route 28 in Fort Ashby, West Virginia.
