Garnet Evans

Garnet Virginia Evans (nee Warrington), 91, of Land O Lakes, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at her residence. She was born on July 9, 1931, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Vernon Edward and Maude Viola Warrington. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School and was a long-time resident of Anne Arundel County before moving to Florida. Prior to retirement, Garnet owned and operated Evans Tri-Me Market in West River with her late husband, Irving Elwood Evans. She enjoyed spending time with her family, golfing, traveling and playing games with friends.

Garnet is survived by her daughter, Garnet (Garrie) Marek and husband, Michael; her cherished grandchildren, Charity Brittingham, Kevin Kroll and Kate Morgan and husband, Kris; her extended grandchildren, Jennifer Holton, Kenneth Marek and Michael Marek; her beloved great grandchildren and her loving sisters, Geraldine Hartley and Sandra Van Fleet. She is predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Irving Elwood Evans and her son Michael Warrington Evans.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 2nd Avenue SW (at Crain Hwy), Glen Burnie, MD, on Thursday, June 1, from 11 AM to 1 PM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM followed by Internment at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Garnet’s name are requested to be sent to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or HPH Hospice in Hudson, FL.
