Gary Grogan

November 23, 1942 — September 28, 2017

Gary Joseph Grogan, 74, of Glen Burnie, now rests in the hands of God. He left us on September 28, 2017 with his sister at his side.
Gary was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia to the late Joseph Franklin and Lorene (O'Dell) Grogan on November 23, 1942. He moved to the area with his family when he was younger. He attended schools in Clarksburg and Glen Burnie High School. He joined the United States Army and served his country proudly. He married the love of his life Barbara Jean Louis in November 1973. Together they shared many wonderful years together until her passing in February of 2015. He worked as a Defense Contractor for Gould and retired in 2007 after a rewarding career. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working, he created many pieces for family and friends. He and his wife also enjoyed gardening. Their gardening skills produced a beautiful yard of flowers and a huge vegetable garden. Gary also enjoyed listening to big band music, boating and crabbing.
He was welcomed home to heaven by many loved ones, his parents; his beloved wife; and brother, Gene Grogan with whom he is now able to share many jokes again.
He is survived by his loving son, Richard Gene Grogan, and his wife Doris; granddaughter, Courtney Wiest; sisters, Donna F. Warner and Diann P. Fugitt,; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave SW (at Crain Hwy) Glen Burnie on Monday, October 2nd from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 1 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Barbara Jean Louis. Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association 1850 York Road, Suite D Timonium, MD 21093 or alz.org, in honor of Gary's mother's battle with Alzheimer's.
