Gene Bennett

Gene Bennett, 61, a lifelong resident of Glen Burnie, passed away at his home on June 21, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Baltimore, MD on February 2, 1951 to the late Doris and Jack Bennett. Gene graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1969 and was employed with Danaher Tool Group then later Apex for 27 years. He enjoyed playing cards, NASCAR, watching the Food Network, working outside and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Butch Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen, whom he married June 22, 1974; daughter, Carrie Hovatter and her husband Matt; grandson, Cameron; two siblings, Brenda Forsythe and Billy Bennett; three sisters-in-law, Diane Ward, Paula Sandidge and her husband Tom and Debra Giardina; and one brother-in-law, Jim Gugliette and wife Sharon.
