Gene Whittington

On Friday, August 25, 2006, Walter "Gene" Whittington of Pasadena, Maryland passed away at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie. Gene is survived by his cherished wife of 26 years, Phyllis "Kitty" Whittington. He is also survived by his loving children, Eric and Alex Whittington and Debra McIntyre, his beloved mother, Betty Bowers, and dear brother, Calvin Whittington. Gene had twelve grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Gene was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia and graduated from Shepherdstown University in his hometown with a B.A. degree. He was the general manager for the American Motor Inns, Baltimore Travel Plaza, and the Restaurant Associaiton as the 3rd Vice President. Gene was a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1962 - 1964. He belonged to the Moose Lodge in Hagerstown, MD and the International Food Service Executives Association. Gene enjoyed playing cards, golf, travelling, and cooking.
