George W. Wellham, III, 86, a lifelong resident of Linthicum, passed away on February 14, 2014. George was born on April 14, 1927 to the late Ida and George Wellham, II. He was employed with Anne Arundel County Police for 43 years, retiring as Chief in 1991. He was a member of the Ocean City Elks Lodge and Maryland Chiefs of Police. George enjoyed hunting, boating, crabbing and the beach. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Gloria Wellham. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; two children, George W. Wellham, IV and Kathy Stearns and her husband Hugh; two grandchildren, Chelsea and Nicholas Stearns; and one sister, Betty Jane Stinchcomb.
