George Sonnenleiter, Jr

On Juyl 26, 2007, George Sonnenleiter, Jr. passed away after a two year illness with Lou Gehrigs' Disease. He is the beloved husband of 50 years to the late Blanche Carolyn; loving father of Alan, Scott, and Mark; dear brother of Carolyn Hein, and the late Wesley Sonnenleiter; caring father-in-law to Phyllis and Debbie; cherished grandfather of Todd and his wife Jen, Lynn, Katie, Jason, Chelsea, and Grace; and devoted great grandfather of Darren. George attended Vocational Technical School. After graduating, he served in the United States Army 1943-1946, and also served in World War II. He received a Good Conduct Medal. George began working for MTA in 1947, where he became the Maintenance Superintendant and later retired from in 1988. George was a member of the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels. During his spare time, he greatly enjoyed Golfing, Tennis, Boating, and Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
