George Watkins

On Monday, August 6, 2007, George Nelson Watkins, passed away at his home in Glen Burnie. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anna Belle Watkins. He is also survived by his children Fawn Sparks-Merson and Howard D. Watkins and his two grandchildren.
George was born in Baltimore and attended the University of Baltimore as well as the Universtiy of Maryland-Baltimore County. He was a police officer for the City of Baltimore for 14 and a half years and then was a security officer for North Arundel Hospital for another 8 and a half years. George was a member of the Masonic Lodge #213 in Glen Burnie, a member of the Retired Police Beneficial Association, and also a member of the Boy Scouts of America as a troop leader for troops 447 and 672. In his spare time, George enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.
