George Phillips Witts, Jr., passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on January 18, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland, George lived a life filled with dedication and service, both to his country and to his work.
George proudly served his nation as a Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class in the US Navy during the Korean War, displaying the values of courage and commitment that he carried throughout his life. After returning from military service, he began a distinguished career at G & G Uniform Company, where he worked for 47 years. His unwavering dedication to his job and the countless individuals he encountered during his time there left a lasting impression on his colleagues and the Baltimore community.
Outside of his professional life, George was known for his love of crossword puzzles and Western movies. These hobbies provided him with joy and he found solace and pleasure in the challenges of wordplay and the timeless narratives of classic Westerns.
George is survived by his daughter, Michele L. Lefler, and her wife, Brandy; and his niece, Dorothy Kuser, along with many other nieces and nephews who cherished him dearly. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Delores "Lori" Witts; and his parents, George Phillip and Mae Margaret (Hubbard) Witts.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mr. Witts will be laid to rest alongside his wife at Baltimore National Cemetery.
