Gertrude Shugars

Gertrude M. Shugars, 100, of Glen Burnie, passed away on December 21, 2022. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late Marvin and Pearl Masincup. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Lawrence Alfred Shugars, Sr.; children, Lola M. Weber, Mary Ellen Andresen and David E. Varney; son-in-law, Daniel J. Lawn; grandson, Charlie Weber Jr.; great-grandson, Quinn A. Peacock; and her siblings, Irving, Catherine, Thelma and Fred.

Gertrude is survived by her devoted children, Lawrence A. Shugars, Jr. and his wife, Joann, and Mary E. Lawn. She will also be missed by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 Second Avenue, S.W., (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on Sunday, January 1st, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, 1 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
