Gertrue Christner

Gertrue Bowman Christner, 93, of Glen Burnie, passed away on May 30, 2017. She was born on December 6, 1923 in Virginia to the late Benjamin and Sarah Bowman. Gertrue was preceded in death by her beloved husband Daryll Christner; her son, Larry Christner, and her sister, Inez Willson. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Christner and Julie Cook and her husband, Danny; her three grandchildren, Chad Cook and his wife, Holly; Alana Guy, and Colin Cook; her great-grandson, Austin Dubiel; and her sister, Mozelle Buckler.

Gertrue enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, canning and baking, and she was always freely giving of her time, her love and her support to all her family, friends and neighbors. She was a thoughtful and compassionate person, who was loved by all.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Friday from 4:30-9 pm. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel, where a viewing will take place prior from 9-10 AM. Interment Lakemount Memorial Gardens.
