Gladys Schreier

Gladys B. Schreier, 78, a resident of Herald Harbor, MD, since 1940, died on June 19, 2009 at the Mandarin Hospice House in Harwood, MD. She was born on August 30, 1930 in Elkins, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Grace Evick.
She was a homemaker and a devoted mother of four children and a childcare provider to approximately 12 children in the community. She also worked many years at the fairfield nursing home. Mrs. Schreier enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing crewel art pictures, the Baltimore Orioles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald E. Schreier, Sr.; whom she married and November 22, 1950, until he passed away in August of 2000. She is survived by three sons, Donald E. Schreier, Jr. of Millersville, MD, Rodger and Douglas Schreier of Crownsville, MD, and one daughter Diana Wright of Berlin, MD. She also leaves behind two sisters Jean Schwartz and Bonnie May and a step brother Donald Evick. Mrs. Schreier was a grandmother to 6, step grandmother of 1, and great grandmother of 2, and beloved owner of her dog Angel.
