Gloria Marie Holeves (nee Truslow ) formerly of Linthicum Heights, died at the home of her daughter in Colbert, GA,, Wednesday July 22, after a long illness. Mrs. Holeves was 83. Born in New York City on January 20, 1926, she attended St. Mary's High School in Rutherford, NJ, and graduated with the class of 1944. Gloria and her late beloved husband of 61 years Leonard were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church on September 12, 1944.
Mrs. Holeves moved to Homewood Rd. in Linthicum Hgts. in 1958 and resided there until the death of her husband in 2006, when she moved to Athens,Georgia. It was a great joy to her that during the last year of her life. Her dear granddaughter Crystal lived with her in her condominium along with Crystal's mother Tammy and younger brother Logan.
Mrs. Holeves was a member of Holy Trinity Players known for her renditions of Judy Garland tunes. She was a member of St. Philip Neri choir since its inception. She worked for Dr. Frank Veltre for several years and then became school secretary at Holy Trinity School, now known as Arthur Slade Regional School. She finished her career at the Maryland Department of Transportation as Data Entry Specialist, retiring in 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Holeves of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and Thomas Holeves of Baltimore; two daughters, Marylou Holeves of Baltimore and Candace Taylor of Colbert, GA; a granddaughter Crystal Holeves; a sister Virginia Wolf of Willingboro, NJ, and a son-in-law, Donald Taylor of Colbert, GA.
