Gordon Curtis

On September 13, 2015, Gordon Arthur Curtis of Orchard Beach, passed away at his home. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 20, 1934, to the late Eversley and Edward Curtis. Gordon served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as a Spec-3 during the Korean Conflict from 1954-1956 and then was in the reserves for six years. He graduated from the University of Baltimore with degrees in both Marketing and Advertising. He also started Law School at U of B but did not finish. He went on to own his own Prudential Insurance Agency. Gordon was a member of the Democratic Club and the Who's Who for graduating cum laude at the University of Baltimore. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and tinkering.
Gordon is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Sondra J. Curtis; his beloved sons, Christopher and Craig Curtis; loving adopted children Jeff and Trisha; his cherished grandchildren, Anthony and Jeff, Jr.; and his dear siblings, Charles Curtis and Doreen Vogt. He was predeceased by his brother, Jim Curtis.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie, on Sunday, September 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
