On October 9, 2016, Gordon Lee Lewis, Sr., 88, passed away at Morningside House of Friendship. Gordon was born in 1928, to the late Ethel and Hubert Lewis in Baltimore, and he served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as a Corporal. He worked as a chief machinest for the BandO Railroad and was a lifetime member of the Ferndale Community Club. Gordon enjoyed playing cards, going to the casinos, and was an avid sports fan, especially the Ravens and Orioles.
Gordon was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth D. Lewis and his dear siblings, Lester, Hubert, and Betty Jane Lewis. He is survived by his cherished son, Gordon Lee Lewis, Jr., dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elmer and Babs Litz, Tessa Clements and family, Adam Litz and family, and Eric Litz and family.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie on Wednesday, October 12th, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. A graveside service will be held on immediately following at 1 PM at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in Gordon's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at www.st.jude.org.
