Hannelore B. Ray

Hannelore B. Ray, a beloved matriarch and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born in Germany to the late Anton and Helene Ewald. 

A woman of many talents, Hannelore found joy in sewing, crocheting, knitting, and crafting in general. Her hands were not only busy with yarn and fabric, but also with love, as she poured her heart into every project. Hannelore was actively involved with St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. 

Beyond her passions and community involvement, Hannelore was above all, a doting grandmother. Her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds; she reveled in their achievements, cherished their laughter, and cultivated a bond with them that will forever resonate through their memories. 

Hannelore is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond T. Ray; loving daughters, Susan Valett and her husband, Jon, Tery Hodges and her husband, Tim; cherished grandchildren, Cara Sadler and her husband, Clint, Jackie Valett, Paul Woodard and his wife, Kathleen, Katie Valett, Samantha Clark and Ben Hodges; adored great-granddaughter, Maddie Sadler; and her dear siblings, Renate Erk and Karl-Heinz Ewald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Herta Bregar and Margit Ewald.

A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at a later date at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Linthicum, Maryland.
